Large vinyl decal Stickers are becoming popular marketing methods. Businesses everywhere are using them to promote their products and services. However, these decals can be difficult to apply, especially on glass or other flat surfaces.
The traditional method uses a dry application, which can often result in wrinkles or air bubbles. This can be time-consuming and even costly if you need to hire a professional to do it for you. An alternate method known as the wet application can make applying vinyl decals much easier.
By using water to wet the surface before applying the decal, you can avoid many common problems associated with dry applications. In addition, the water will help to keep the decal in place while you smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles. This method is not only easier, but it can also save you time and money.
To make this method as easy as a pro, you will need the following supplies:
If you’re looking for a professional-looking application, you’ll need the following supplies:
- Dry Towel
- Cleaning alcohol
- A water sprayer with glass cleaner or water
- Credit card or similar thin hard object.
With these items on hand, you’ll be well on your way to creating a beautiful and professional-looking decal application.
So let’s go ahead and get started.
Step 1: Clean The Surface Where The Stickers Will Be Applied
Before applying stickers, it is important to clean the surface where they will be placed. This will make sure that the decals adhere properly and do not leave any residue behind.
Transparent decals are easier to manipulate than those made from paper, as they are made from clear plastic. To clean the surface, spray with alcohol and then wipe with a cloth. You can use soapy water instead, but be aware that it may leave behind streaks.
Alcohol will evaporate much faster and is, therefore, a better option. Once the surface is clean, you can move on to the next step.
Step 2: Spray water evenly on the surface and apply stickers
This is the most important step and is very simple. You must spray water evenly over the surface to which you will stick the decals.
Note, when doing this step, you must avoid letting dust particles fly into the sprayed water. The dust will cause bubbles when you apply the sticker, ruining the smooth surface.
Also, it’s important that you use clean water; otherwise, the dirt in the water will also cause bubbles. Once you have sprayed the water evenly, please wait a few seconds for it to evaporate; then, apply the decals quickly before it has a chance to evaporate or run completely.
You will see the designs begin to separate and come to the surface. Using your fingertips or a pair of tweezers, gently lift each decal and position them on your nail. You can cut the designs down to smaller sizes if you want. When you are satisfied with the placement of the decals, move on to the next step.
Step 3: Use A Credit Card To Wipe All The Water Off The Stickers
Use a credit card or similarly thin object to swipe in order from the inside out, gently and evenly. This method allows the water from the underside of the decals to flow out along the edges, pulling air bubbles.
Don’t worry about the adhesive losing its adhesion; vinyl decals are made for this method. After running out of water for a few hours, it will stick very tightly to the surface.
And don’t be rushed because if you feel like the sticker’s drying out, you can lift it up and spray again.
Step 4: Use A Dry Towel To Push All The Tiny Air Bubbles Out Of The Decal
Keep pressing it until it sticks, and no more moisture comes out.
You need to hold a dry towel and gently wipe it on the surface of the decals.
The result is amazing, and your decals will be glued very tightly on the car door, glass door, or any other position you want as intended and without any air bubbles.
It’s easy.

Great product. Made the perfect tribute piece from my dad. Completely custom. Great price. My only suggestion would be to use some other form of delivery. USPS is undependable at best and completely incompetent at their worst
